How to Install Laravel Using Softaculous https://chemicloud.com/kb/article/install-laravel-using-softaculous/ https://chemicloud.com/kb/article/install-laravel-using-softaculous/#respond Sat, 17 Apr 2021 15:24:37 +0000 https://chemicloud.com/kb/?post_type=ht_kb&p=5302 This Knowledgebase article will help you understand more about Laravel as well as how to install Laravel.

What is Laravel?

Laravel is an open-source PHP framework using those technicalities to create innovation and fresh sets of web applications. It can be useful in the world of web page development. Create full-featured websites using Laravel. The essential functions of PHP’s are well covered under Laravel. Laravel framework makes the implementation of authentication techniques very simple. Almost everything is configured perfectly. Laravel provides a very simple way to organize authorization logic and control access to various resources.

Widely considered the best framework because it has Object Oriented libraries and other pre-installed ones, which are not found in any other PHP frameworks. One of the pre-installed libraries is the Authentication library. It has many advanced features like checking active users, Bcrypt hashing, password reset, CSRF (Cross-site Request Forgery) protection, and encryption.

Laravel framework offers a build-in tool named Artisan. This tool allows a developer to perform the majority of those repetitive and tedious programming tasks which most of the developers avoid performing manually.

Another reason which makes Laravel the best PHP framework is it supports MVC Architecture like Symfony, ensuring clarity between logic and presentation. MVC helps in improving the performance, allows better documentation, and has multiple built-in functionalities. Here’s how the MVC works for Laravel.

Laravel also takes care of the security within its framework. It uses the hashed password, which means that the password would never save as the plain text in the database. Laravel framework uses prepared SQL statements which make injection attacks unimaginable.

With Laravel framework database migrations, it is extremely easy. As long as you keep all of the database work in migrations and seeds, you can easily migrate the changes into any other development machine you have.

Developers always need to learn more in order to deliver more. Laravel offers Laracasts features which is a mix of free and paid video tutorials that show you how to use Laravel for development. The videos are all created by Jeffery Way, an expert instructor. The video quality is high, and the lessons are well-thought-out and meaningful.

Furthermore, the Blade templating engine of the Laravel framework is very intuitive and helps to work with the typical PHP/HTML spaghetti so perfect, that’s it one of the best features of the Laravel framework.

The Laravel Responsible Interface is a newly added feature in the Laravel framework with the release of Laravel 5.5. It is defined as a class that is used to implement the interface which can be returned by using the controller method.

Some popular websites developed using Laravel are:

  • Alison.com
  • Barchart.com
  • Neighborhood Lender
  • World Walking

If you don’t see your WordPress installations in the list, you can import them into Softaculoius very easily. Just follow our guide on Importing your Site into Softaculous here.

Step 4: Click the Clone icon on the same line as the site you wish to clone.

Step 5: On the Cloning WordPress page, you have a few settings. Let’s examine them:

At the top, you need to choose the directory in which you wish to install the cloned site. This can be at the root of your domain, for example: https://www.yourdomain.com/, or it can be in another folder, such as /client1 or /site2.

After this, you need to choose the name of the database. If you keep track of your databases by naming them, this would be where you would enter the name of that new database. Or you can just insert a random number at the end.

Important:

You will not be able to proceed unless you give a new database name. The field is pre-populated with the name of the database the site you are cloning uses.

Beneath Site settings, you have the option to disable search engine visibility for the new site. Remember, not all search engines will respect this option.

You also have the option to enter the Site Name. This is optional, you can configure this later in WordPress if you want.

Lastly, when you ready, click Clone Installation.

Softaculous will do a check to ensure the settings are okay and will clone the site:

After the clone is complete, you will see a success message:

And that’s it! Now you have cloned your WordPress site!
