hi, I’m triying to download this file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BXWvJVPh8JxY97b_L-kVivOMziFDe3pr/view
with you method, but doen’t works… could you help me, please.
Every time I click download, the ‘uuid’ and ‘at’ values change. So before pressing the download button, I copy those values into the command and run it in the console. Like this:
wget –load-cookies /tmp/cookies.txt “https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=$(wget –quiet –save-cookies /tmp/cookies.txt –keep-session-cookies –no-check-certificate ‘https://docs.google.com/uc?id=1BXWvJVPh8JxY97b_L-kVivOMziFDe3pr&export=download&authuser=0&confirm=t&uuid=66eedd0b-335e-4141-a8a0-3840a7c69b23&at=AEz70l4WiSHYse7Kw3NbT-SvFgLG:1742267950370’ -O- | sed -rn ‘s/.*confirm=([0-9A-Za-z_]+).*/\1\n/p’)&id=1BXWvJVPh8JxY97b_L-kVivOMziFDe3pr” -O file.7z

I have been trying so many solutions around curl and get, tried them all at StackOverflow https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25010369/wget-curl-large-file-from-google-drive
The two first wget solutions you presented did not work; however, the CurlWget did!
I just pasted the output CurlWget gave me and that worked. Amazing!

This process did not work for me with a very large (2GB) file. It seems to only download the “Virus scan warning” dialog page, so I presume there one more step required.

I couldn’t get gdown or anything similar to install on a remote machine, so I’m left with only the tools that came preinstalled. Ignore that guy going “just install XYZ!”, sometimes you gotta stretch your tools and work with what you’re given. Thanks for making this, you’re a real one.

Thank you for your article, and i also discovered that, using the chrome extension, you do not need to share the file to public, since the chrome extension copy everything about the login and the file id, example, the extension add’s the login token of that google account on the curl or wget file codes.

In reply to bob. I think gdown has some extra features built in and can be more expandable than wget for this specific use-case as it is a Python script after all. I'll give it a go and might add it to the article. Thanks for your suggestion!
